Thanks to the generosity of Boltz's Hardware and Garden Center in Martinsburg, we have just received a quantity of 2016 seed, including many varieties of cucumber, kale and collards, lettuce, melon, peas, popcorn and sweet corn, pumpkins, spinach, squash, turnips, zucchini and others.
Lot's of activities are happening in the Gardens. Stop by during the Holiday break and see for yourself!
Fall arrives on September 22nd. But, the Gardens are still very busy producing healthy produce. Our Fall projects include a washing station, finishing the high tunnel and putting in the autumn crops.
The Gardens were a late addition to the African American Heritage Festival we had a great time. We got a chance to show off our 'Lil Sprout' solar powered irrigation system, share some of the bounty of the gardens and sign up new friends and volunteers. Thanks to everyone that stopped by!
